I am a digital marketing executive with 20+ years’ experience, and an entrepreneurial spirit who relishes the opportunity to bring a creative idea from conception to launch. I pride myself on my ability to improve the workplace culture by bridging generational gaps. In particular, I have an extensive, proven track record of connecting with millennials and helping them to reach their potential in the classroom and the workplace. I am seeking a full-time position where I can leverage my management skills, my extensive marketing and digital media experience, my communication/teaching skills and my business development acumen.
I began working in the new media space soon after graduating from college, helping e-Coupons to acquire clients (Citibank, Forbes, Nordic Track, +200 local businesses) for its web-based coupon business. I account-managed the construction of the first websites for A&E Television Networks, AT&T Long Distance and Mars Inc. I led the development of Citibank’s first online credit card application. I played a key role in the merger transitions for GeoCities (purchased by Yahoo!) and Net4Music (merged with Coda Music to form MakeMusic). I developed and launched an online hockey magazine (Inside Hockey) and an email marketing service for musicians (Band Letter). I helped Pro Football Focus to design and launch its fantasy football subscription service, and I helped Capture to prepare its app for public use. And I taught digital media as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University for eight years, consistently receiving top-notch reviews from students.
In addition to my work in the digital media space, I’ve been a professional musician for over 25 years. I currently play keyboards and sing in a Boston-based band, Semi Good Lookin’. We’ve played shows at the House of Blues (Boston), the Hard Rock Café (Boston), Johnny D’s (Somerville) and the Middle East (Cambridge). I also played piano and sang in bars throughout New York City, Long Island and Binghamton in the 1990s, including a stint at Anthony Bourdain’s infamous restaurant, One Fifth.
I’m a huge sports fan. I try to get to Fenway Park whenever I can to watch the Red Sox, and I make occasional pilgrimages to Dallas to watch the Cowboys. I’ve run Inside Hockey for 15 years, and I helped Pro Football Focus to prepare and launch its fantasy football service.
I was the New York Sun‘s hockey columnist for five years, and I co-hosted the Inside Hockey Radio Show for three years along with James Murphy (ESPN, Dirty Water Sports) and former NHL star Kevin Stevens (Penguins, Bruins, Kings, Rangers, Flyers).
The Inside Hockey Radio Show was featured on NESN’s “Rubber Biscuit” in 2007, here’s the clip…
I love to cook, especially on my charcoal grill. Other specialties include breakfast (I make pancakes from scratch for my daughters every Sunday morning) and “kitchen sink” stir-fry (pictured above). I’m a beer aficionado, a few of my current favorites are Ballast Point Sculpin, Hop Nosh Tangerine IPA and Two Evil Geyser Gose. My favorite Boston-area restaurants are Little Big Diner, Island Creek Oyster Bar and Oishii. And my favorite breakfast/coffee destination is Sandwich Works in Newton Centre… their iced coffee (with coffee cubes) is the best!
I live in the suburbs of Boston with my wife and my two daughters, who demonstrate pure bliss (grass angels on the first warm spring day) below…
